PVC edge banding is mainly suitable for edge banding of micro standing boards, density boards, particleboard, plywood, and solid wood edges can also be used. In practical use, manual and mechanical pasting methods can be used to complete the task, but mechanical pasting is the main method to improve work efficiency. The adhesive used for pasting PVC environmentally friendly edge banding strips is universal glue, hot melt adhesive, and white latex, but hot melt adhesive is better. During the pasting process, the PVC edge banding is firmly adhered to the surface of the wooden board through mechanical interlocking, physical attraction, and chemical bonding. Therefore, the flatness of the substrate edge profile is highly required during pasting, with a general tolerance of no more than 0.1mm. The temperature of the board and the ambient temperature for pasting should be at 18 ℃. The curing time of hot melt adhesive is generally 30 minutes, but the choice of low-temperature adhesive or high-temperature adhesive depends on the thickness of the edge sealing strip.
The scope of application of melamine edge banding is basically similar to that of PVC edge banding. But the best way is to seal the edges of the fireproof board. Both manual and mechanical edge sealing are acceptable during operation; The requirements for adhesives such as hot melt glue, universal glue, and white emulsion glue are not high; The use of flat or roll adhesive allows for the selection of adhesive in the market; When using hot melt adhesive as the bonding agent, the temperature of the adhesive should be controlled at 120 ℃ to 160 ℃, the pressure should be 4-6/2, the curing time should be 20-50 seconds, and the ambient temperature for indoor bonding should be 15 ℃. Considering that melamine edge banding has stronger permeability to hot melt adhesive and universal adhesive than PVC, it is necessary to reduce the amount of adhesive coating when sticking to the board, generally controlled within the range of 6-8 g/linear meter. In mechanical edge sealing, the visual effect is that the adhesive layer is evenly coated and the mesh is clear; The running speed of mechanical gluing is 30~50 m/min, and the running speed of edge bonding is the fastest when all kinds of edge banding strips are used for edge bonding. This can not only ensure the bonding quality, but also improve the working efficiency, which is quite awesome.
Characteristics of PVC edge banding:
PVC furniture edge banding is relatively light compared to metal and organic glass. The reason for its lightness is not because it is a polymer compound, but because it is an organic compound composed of lighter elements such as carbon, hydrogen, oxygen, and nitrogen.
The material of PVC furniture edge banding is plastic, which is easy to process. Plastic has plasticity, that is, it deforms after heating or pressure, and maintains its original shape after cooling or pressure disappears. It can be processed into various shapes of edge banding strips through extrusion and other methods, such as T-shaped edge banding strips, H-shaped edge banding strips, D-shaped edge banding strips, V-shaped edge banding strips, I-shaped edge banding strips, and so on.
