What Is PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less?

Polyurethane hot melt, commonly called PUR hot melt, is an adhesive that is heated and dispensed from a cartridge or slug using a heated gun or piece of bulk dispensing equipment. In comparison, traditional hot melt comes in stick or pellet form. PUR is also unique because it solidifies through moisture in the air to form a strong bond that will not re-melt.

Because of its strength, durability, and fast set time, PUR is ideal for a wide variety of applications in woodworking, finish carpentry, shoe repair, furniture repair, broken glassware repair, laminate countertops, construction and remodeling, and more. It is also simple to dispense, cost effective and bonds to a lot of different substrates.

PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less

Components of PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less

Polymers give the adhesive its main properties, flexibility and strength. The polymers make the hot-melt adhesive durable and capable of maintaining a bond.
Resins make the adhesive feel ''wet'' and provide the primary bond between the two surfaces.
Plasticizers alter the viscosity (thickness and fluidity) of the adhesive and ease application.

How the PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less Works

Melting

The PUR hot melt adhesive is heated until it becomes liquid. This is usually achieved with the help of special hot melt equipment, such as a hot melt gun or system. The temperature at which the glue melts varies depending on the type of PUR hot melt adhesive used.

Applying

After the PUR hot melt adhesive is melted, it is evenly applied to the surface to be bonded. This can be done manually with a hot melt gun or automatically with special equipment, depending on the application.

Solidification

When used, the PUR hot melt adhesive begins to cool and solidifies quickly. This creates a strong bond between the materials being bonded together.

Key Chemical Properties of PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less

Some of the properties of hot melt adhesive change depending on the material on which it's applied. Some vary with the temperature of the surroundings. Here are four of its main chemical properties.

Melt viscosity
Melt viscosity is a temperature-dependent property that affects how well the adhesive spreads and its wetting ability. It is lower at higher temperatures.

Melt flow index
Melt flow index (mfi) is a measure of how well the glue flows as it is extruded. The mfi increases as both the molecular weight and viscosity of the hot melt adhesive decrease and vice versa. An adhesive with greater mfi flows easily, but its strength, flexibility, and other mechanical properties are lowered.

Pot life stability
Pot life stability indicates how long the hot melt adhesive can be kept in a molten state without degrading. It goes by several other names, including aging performance, heat stability, and thermal stability.

Bond-formation temperature
The temperature below which the adhesive does not sufficiently wet the substrate is the bond-formation temperature. It is essential because good wetting of the substrate helps to produce high-quality bonds.

How to Choose a PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less
Color

If there is no special requirement for color, yellow PUR hot melt adhesive is recommended. Generally speaking, the adhesion of yellow PUR hot melt adhesive is stronger than that of white PUR hot melt adhesive.

Surface treatment
Like other types of adhesives, PUR hot melt adhesive does not require perfect surface treatment of the substrate. However, cleaning the dust and oil on the substrate helps PUR hot melt adhesive to bond well with the object.

Opening time
High operating speed is one of the main characteristics of hot melt adhesive machines. Industrial PUR hot melt adhesive usually forms a strong bond within 15 seconds. In order to adapt to the continuous improvement of technology, the opening time of PUR hot melt adhesive is getting shorter and shorter. For example, the opening time of book binding applications and speaker manufacturing is about 5 seconds.

Temperature resistance
PUR hot melt adhesive is sensitive to temperature. When the temperature reaches a certain level, PUR hot melt adhesive begins to soften. When the temperature drops to a certain temperature, PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless will become brittle. Therefore, the working environment should be considered when choosing PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless.

Adhesion
The adhesion of PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless is divided into early adhesion and late adhesion. The consistency of adhesion is the premise for the good stability between PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless and the substrate. During the production process, PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless should have antioxidant, halogen resistance, acid and alkali resistance and plasticity. The adhesion requirements of PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless to different objects should be adjusted according to the material of the substrate, so different PUR hot melt adhesive modified traceless should be selected according to the substrate.

Changing PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-Less

Step one
First of all the adhesive should be removed from the system as much as possible. De adhesive tank can be drained by using the drain point. Take the necessary precautions because of the release of hot adhesives. It is recommended to check the main filter for excessive pollution. If the filter is heavily polluted it needs to be changed. hot melt changing testing another type

Step two
When the tank is empty, the whole system needs to be set on a low temperature. A temperature around 20 – 30 degrees beyond the melting point of the new hotmelt can be maintained. This is called the 'Ring & Ball Temperature'. After this the tank is ready to be filled with the new hotmelt.

Step three
In order to prevent the existing pollution in the system (burnt particles etc.) to reach the small channels of the nozzles and cause blockages, it is recommended to disconnect the tubes.
When the new is hotmelt has melted in the tank, the rinsing of the tubes can be started.
Because the new adhesive has a higher viscosity at low temperature, the present old adhesive is pushed out of the tubes. A higher pump pressure is required.

Step four
When the rinsed hotmelt that is released at the end of the disconnected tubes looks clean and consistent, the system must be depressurized and the nozzles can be assembled.

Step five
If there are 'in-line' filters placed before the nozzles it is recommended to renew those. After assembly of the nozzles they should be rinsed as last with the new hotmelt.

Safety Precautions When Using the PUR Hot Melt Adhesive Modified Trace-less
